The Role
As a Sales Assistant you’ll be supporting your store team with driving sales performance and the day‑day running of your store. You’ll deliver exceptional customer service and experience to optimise KPI performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities. Support your team on meeting and exceeding targets through focusing on KPI delivery.
- Deliver exceptional market‑leading customer service to drive business growth through customer loyalty & repeat purchases.
- Offer a VIP concierge service, actively contacting customers with updates on products and tastings.
- Sell the story, not the discount, sharing your passion for product with in‑depth knowledge of the range.
- Take ownership of wine knowledge, continuously learning to support your WSET qualification and confidence in selling.
- Maintain the physical appearance and upkeep of the store both internally and externally.
- Participate in all operational tasks required for the day‑day running of a Majestic Wine store – from delivering wine to customers, merchandising stock deliveries and calling valued customers to drive sales opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to optimise operational efficiency, feeding ideas back to the wider team for implementation.
- Remain fully compliant with safety, legal and internal policy requirements, completing mandatory training.
- Serve as an example of Majestic’s Ways of Working and support junior team members, reporting to the Store Manager as appropriate.
- Operate as a key holder, understanding opening and closing compliance and confidently running the store independently.
Knowledge & Skills Required

- Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience & service to every customer.
- Self‑motivated, thriving in both independent and team environments.
- Can‑do attitude with a passion for seeing problems through to solutions.
- Adaptable and resilient, meeting the ever‑changing demands of the business.
- Excellent communication and time‑management skills.
- Wine knowledge is beneficial; passion to learn is essential for Level 2 WSET qualification.
- Hold a full UK manual driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.

Job Specifics
- Contract: Permanent
- Hours: 40 Hours Per Week
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
- Driving is a key part of this position; comfortable driving company vans and holding a full UK manual driver’s licence for at least 12 months.
- Salary: £26,436.80
