The Role
The Operations and Transport Manager will assist in overseeing the daily operations and transportation activities within Palletforce Logistics. This role ensures efficient and reliable pallet distribution services, maintains high service standards, and supports overall logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management – Assist the Operations Manager with day‑to‑day depot operations, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
- Transport Management – Assist with scheduling, routing, and tracking of deliveries.
- Team Leadership – Supervise a team of drivers, providing guidance and support.
- Compliance – Ensure all operations comply with CPC requirements and relevant legal transport requirements.
- Performance Monitoring – Monitor driver efficiencies, absences, and vehicle‑related incidents.
- Reporting – Prepare and present regular reports on transport activities to senior management.
Hours: 0700‑1700hrs
Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience within logistics, transport, or a related operational environment.
- A valid CPC qualification (essential).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
- Sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring compliance at all times.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities.
- Proficiency in logistics management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills, proactive and adaptable.
