Class 2 Driver
Location: Cullompton
Shift Pattern: 5 out of 7 days, based on a rolling rota.
Pay Rates
- £16.00–£20.50 per hour, depending on shift and experience.
- Overtime paid at an enhanced hourly rate.
About the Role
As a Class 2 Driver, you will:
- Operate a rigid vehicle equipped with a tail lift to deliver chilled goods from the Cullompton depot to a range of retail outlets, wholesalers and convenience stores across the South West.
- Provide a high level of customer service at delivery points, ensuring delivery requirements are met and expectations are managed effectively.
- Demonstrate flexibility to accommodate early start times, safely operate tail‑lift equipment and carry out manual handling of deliveries in line with safe working practices.
- Ensure all goods are loaded, secured and transported correctly using appropriate load restraint equipment.
- Complete comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using a company‑issued mobile device, maintaining vehicle safety and compliance.
- Maintain regular communication with the transport team, providing timely updates throughout the working day.
- Participate in regular training sessions to remain up to date with industry standards, compliance requirements and best practice.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- UK Class 2 (Category C) Licence.
- Current Driver CPC Card.
- Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
- Passion for delivering excellent customer service.
- Ability to work to deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Confident, courteous and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Good geographical knowledge and route awareness.
- Physically fit, flexible, hardworking and self‑motivated with a positive attitude.
