What You’ll Be Doing
- Oversee the review and audit of all project deliverables, including specifications, commercial set‑up, engineering indications, compliance with technical standards, data validation, and modelling tools, ensuring alignment with project directives. Engage technical specialists as required.
- Serve as the primary contact for all technical and financial aspects of innovation projects, addressing queries and actions from internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare, review, and contribute to reports (both regulatory and non-regulatory) and publications adhering to NIA/SIF Guidance to facilitate effective knowledge dissemination and contribute to the development of industrial standards.
- Collaborate with the project delivery team to identify and capture insights from innovation projects, ensuring their integration into Business as Usual (BaU) practices and timely communication to key stakeholders.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory implications of innovation initiatives, including their delivery and benefits.
- Ensure strict adherence to Health & Safety protocols across all project locations.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring awareness of project developments, implications, opportunities, and associated responsibilities.
- Evaluate and enable the implementation of long‑term measures concerning the integration of innovation projects with existing IT infrastructure, real‑time systems (RTS), commercial frameworks, and regulated interfaces such as TO/GBSO/DSO. This includes grid monitoring, system planning and operation, investment, and business models.
- Represent the team and company in interactions with stakeholders, demonstrating professionalism, security awareness, and alignment with internal reporting structures.
- Proactively contribute to the success of the department and organization through the generation and facilitation of new proposals and projects.
- Foster a positive, supportive, and constructive team environment, demonstrating exemplary leadership and professional integrity.
What You’ll Bring
- Degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience and a proven track record (preferably electrical, data or IT biased).
- Experience as project lead or work package lead in large complex projects.
- In‑depth understanding of regulated network business (electricity distribution and/or transmission networks preferred) and its engineering foundations.
- Good project management skill set and experience with core project management software.
- Ability to understand, appraise and develop innovation cost‑benefit analysis, following in‑house training/guidance.
- Advanced negotiation and influencing capabilities to establish effective relationships across all levels.
- Exceptional organisational and project management skills across cross‑functional workstreams.
- Professional conduct within a regulated environment, strong teamwork and team‑building capabilities.
- Proven ability to liaise with industry bodies and stakeholders.
- Strong presentational and verbal communication skills.
- Adaptability to rapidly changing environments and competing priorities.
- Prioritise workloads effectively to meet agreed timelines and quality benchmarks.
- Strong sense of responsibility and duty in supporting national critical infrastructure.

- Full and valid UK driving licence.
