Overview
An exciting opportunity to join the team as the Principal Pharmacist, Paediatrics and Women’s Health. The post leads and develops the clinical pharmacy service to the Women and Children’s Division, providing leadership and clinical expertise to support safe medicines management, medicines optimisation and service improvements across the division.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the clinical pharmacy services to the Women and Children’s Division, including antenatal, neonatal, postnatal, maternity, paediatrics, obstetrics & gynaecology, to ensure high standards of quality and professional practice.
- Provide leadership and clinical expertise, supporting work across the Women and Children’s Division and acting as a core member of the MDT.
- Oversee implementation of service improvements, review medicines expenditure, and ensure medicines safety and clinical governance within the division.
- Work directly with patients and carers to understand needs and support adherence to medication regimens.
- Lead and coordinate the provision of pharmacy care, supervise pharmacy staff, and coordinate cross-site work as required (including covering for leave).
- Participate in late duty, bank holidays and weekend rotas as part of a seven-day service.
- Be the lead pharmacist for Women’s and Children’s services Trust-wide and act as the specialist on medicine issues in this area.
- Ensure appropriate training and professional development for the team and yourself.
