Site Manager – Tower Wood

Salary £28,142 – £32,061 per annum. Permanent, full‑time, 37 hours per week. Property & Estates Management.

Overview

Lancashire Outdoor Education is delighted to offer the opportunity to join the Tower Wood Leadership Team in the role of Site Manager.

Tower Wood is situated on the shores of Lake Windermere, offering unique facilities with eleven acres and a boathouse that gives access to the lake. It is located on the A592, 4 miles from the Newby Bridge Roundabout and 3 miles from the centre of Bowness. The centre has a 109‑bed capacity across several buildings. Windermere Lodge can sleep up to 59 across 23 en‑suite rooms, with 4 fully accessible rooms. The main house sleeps 39 across 9 rooms and South Lodge sleeps 9 across 4 rooms. The building is wheelchair accessible.

Responsibilities

The Site Manager is a key player in premises management, compliance and health and safety at the centre. Responsibilities include site and vehicle checks, basic maintenance tasks, and co‑ordinating contractors. The Site Manager will contribute to the effective running of the centre as part of the Centre Leadership Team through collaboration with the House Manager, Programme (Operations) Manager and Business Support Officer.

The role also has the opportunity to contribute to the development and culture of Lancashire Outdoor Education as part of the Premises Management Team.

The role suits someone with an interest and experience in premises management or trade. It requires solution‑focused thinking, practical skills and a good level of personal and professional organisational ability.
