Class 2 HGV Driver – Aircraft Loaders – Fixed Term Until 31st October

Regular roster of 4 on 4 off shift, availability for 06:00-17:30, Overtime rate of 1.5, free onsite parking, complimentary meals and refreshments, free uniform, free life insurance, company sick pay, pension scheme. Start dates ASAP subject to referencing.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Driving HGV 15 – 18 tonne company liveried vehicles in a secure & controlled environment
  • Carrying out vehicle checks prior to use
  • Loading and unloading catering uplifts to aircraft
  • Liaising with flight crew and working in collaboration with other ground handling suppliers
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the vehicle
  • Adhering to all Road Traffic Acts and additional airport by‑laws
  • Additional duties such as bar and stores packing or search and sealing will be a daily requirement along with any associated paperwork
  • Plus any additional warehouse duties

Requirements

  • Valid clean HGV CAT C driving licence (up to 3 points will be considered)
  • Digital tachograph knowledge and possession of a digital tachograph card
  • Driver CPC qualification essential
  • Previous HGV experience desirable, airport air‑side driving would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of the Road Traffic Act
  • Previous experience in a catering or hospitality role is desirable but not essential
  • Must be able to work shifts and be keen to learn
  • All applicants must have the right to work in the UK, undertake a CRC (criminal record check) and provide 5 years of checkable referencing history
  • For anyone who spent outside the UK exceeding 6 months, you must be able to provide a CRC for that country

Compensation

  • £34,176 rising with service up to £43,050 (inclusive of annual tool allowance)
  • £41,946 rising with service up to £52,512 (inclusive of annual tool allowance)
