Weekend Veterinary Patient Care Assistant

Location: 51 Bawtry Road, Doncaster, DN4 7AA

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 20 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Working Saturday 12:00‑20:00 and Sunday 08:00‑20:00

This role supports our skilled Veterinary Nursing and Veterinary teams in delivering exceptional care to animal patients at MiNight Vet Doncaster. You will assist with patient care, animal restraint, and administrative duties during the weekend shift.

Responsibilities

• Providing nursing care to patients
• Assisting Vets and Nurses with animal restraint
• Walking, feeding, and cleaning patients
• Preparing emergency and operating facilities
• Performing general cleaning and maintenance
• Running internal lab samples
• Answering emergency calls
• Supporting the reception team when needed, including booking appointments and processing payments

Qualifications

• Excellent communicator with strong empathy
• Skilled in customer service and public interaction
• Experience in animal welfare, including feeding, cleaning, and handling
• Resilient and able to handle emotional situations
• Positive team player
• Preferably has experience in a veterinary environment
