Year 6 Teaching Assistant – Full Academic Year Full-Time, Ashton in Makerfield (September Start)

We are seeking an experienced and confident Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated Year 6 team for the full academic year from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils during a crucial stage of their primary education, with a strong focus on preparation for SATs.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience working within Year 6 and demonstrate a strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum. You will play a key role in supporting pupils academically, helping to raise attainment, and building confidence ahead of SATs assessments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted support in English and Maths, both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.
  • Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering interventions tailored to pupil needs.
  • Support pupils with SATs preparation, including revision strategies and exam readiness.
  • Help to monitor progress and provide feedback on pupil attainment.
  • Foster a positive and focused learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Have proven experience working in Year 6.
  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge across the KS2 curriculum.
  • Be confident supporting SATs preparation and interventions.
  • Show initiative, adaptability, and a proactive approach.
  • Have excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
