Are you a recent Maths graduate looking to gain valuable experience in education? Do you have a passion for helping young people develop their mathematical skills and confidence?

We are working with a welcoming and supportive college in Bury seeking a dedicated Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis from September 2026.

As a Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant, you will support students of different abilities. The role will involve a combination of 1:1 support, small-group interventions, and classroom assistance.

  • Provide targeted 1:1 support for students requiring additional help in Maths.
  • Deliver and support small-group intervention sessions.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging Maths lessons.
  • Help students build confidence, understanding and problem-solving skills.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Encourage positive engagement and participation in learning.
  • Support students preparing for examinations and assessments.
  • A degree in Maths or a related subject.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Maths.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, supportive and enthusiastic approach to working with young people.
  • A desire to pursue a career in education, teaching or student support.
  • Previous experience working with young people is beneficial but not essential.
  • Full-time position within a well-regarded college in Bury.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
