What You’ll Do:
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a range of electrical building services systems.
- Diagnose faults, undertake repairs and restore services safely and efficiently.
- Maintain and support electrical infrastructure including LV distribution systems, switchgear, emergency lighting, generators, UPS systems and associated equipment.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with statutory regulations, healthcare technical standards (HTMs), site procedures and safe systems of work.
- Support compliance activities by maintaining accurate maintenance records, service reports and documentation.
- Participate in permit‑to‑work, isolation and safety management processes.
- Work closely with Estates colleagues, clinical teams and specialist contractors to minimise disruption and maintain service continuity.
- Assist with minor projects, lifecycle replacement works, testing and commissioning activities.
- Identify risks, plant condition issues and opportunities for improvement, escalating concerns where appropriate.
- Contribute to a culture of safety, compliance and continuous improvement across the hospital estate.
What You Bring:
- Relevant HTM & Electrical Qualifications level 3
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
- Proven experience maintaining and repairing electrical building services systems in a healthcare, critical environment or similarly regulated setting.
- Strong fault‑finding, diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
- Good knowledge of electrical safety standards, statutory compliance requirements and safe systems of work.
- Experience working with planned and reactive maintenance programmes within a live operational environment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics and engineering documentation.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across a multi‑disciplinary environment.
- A proactive, safety‑focused approach with strong organisational and record‑keeping abilities.
- Desirable: HTM Level 3 training, inspection and testing qualifications, healthcare estates experience, CAFM system experience and exposure to critical infrastructure such as generators, IPS and UPS systems.
