Requirements

  • Strong software engineering experience, with a focus on Python development
  • Experience building Infrastructure as Code solutions with Terraform
  • Experience creating reusable templates and code generation platforms using Jinja/Jinja2
  • Experience automating Windows environments using PowerShell
  • Experience working with Puppet for configuration management
  • Experience building CI/CD integrations for infrastructure delivery
  • Experience working with cloud, platform, and engineering teams in complex environments
  • Ability to solve infrastructure challenges through clean, scalable, production-quality code

We are recruiting for an Automation Software Engineer to join a major long-term government technology programme, helping build large and secure customer contact and communications platforms used by critical organisations. This is a software engineering-focused infrastructure role where we build automation frameworks, internal tooling, and Infrastructure as Code solutions to eliminate manual processes. The position is based in Southampton, Hampshire, with a hybrid working pattern of 2 days onsite and 3 days remote.
