Press Setter / Technical Press Operator (Cold Press & Blanking)nIMMEDIATE START | FULL TRAINING PROVIDEDnSunderlandn24-Month Fixed Term Contractn£12.85 – £13.60ph | Up to £26.44ph OvertimenOpportunity for Permanent EmploymentnAbout the RolenWe are recruiting for a Press Setter / Technical Press Operator to join a leading automotive manufacturer at their Sunderland facility.nThis role is ideal for individuals who are naturally hands-on and mechanically minded, whether through work or personal interests such as fixing cars, working on bikes, or maintaining machinery.nIf you’re currently working as an operator but enjoy understanding how things work, fault finding, and getting involved in the technical side of equipment, this role offers a pathway into a more skilled, technical position within cold press and blanking operations.nKey Responsibilitiesn * Set, operate, and monitor cold press and blanking/progression press linesn * Assist with tooling setup, adjustments, and basic fault findingn * Support die changes and press setup activitiesn * Carry out quality checks and ensure parts meet required standardsn * Identify and report issues with tooling, materials, or press performancen * Use hand tools for adjustments and minor mechanical tasksn * Work alongside maintenance and tooling teams to improve performancen * Operate overhead cranes (training provided)nWhat We’re Looking FornWe’re looking for people who enjoy working with their hands and understanding machinery:n * Experience in a manufacturing or production environment (preferred)n * OR strong mechanical interest outside of work (e.g. cars, bikes, DIY, engines, repairs)n * A natural curiosity for how things work and how to fix themn * Willingness to learn press setting and tooling processesn * Hands-on, proactive attitude with good attention to detailn * Interest in developing into a Press Setter or Technical SpecialistnWhat’s in it for You?n * 24-month fixed-term contract with job securityn * Structured training to develop technical press and tooling skillsn * Clear progression into Press Setter roles and beyondn * Opportunity to join a business with strong internal promotion historynShift Patternn * Dayshiftn * Mon–Thurs: 06:45 – 15:03n * Fri: 06:45 – 14:13n * n Late Shift:n * n Monday – Thursday = 15:00 – 23:18n * n Friday = 14:20 – 22:38nApply Now
