Job Description:

The Lead Intelligence Analyst will play a key role in supporting the Trust’s Electronic Patient Record (EPR) implementation programme by providing high‑quality analytical insight, reporting solutions and data expertise. The postholder will lead analytical workstreams aligned to clinical and operational domains, develop a deep understanding of services, pathways and organisational data, and design and deliver meaningful intelligence products. The role will support the organisation through the transition to EPR by ensuring continuity of reporting and performance intelligence, supporting testing and validation activities, and helping design the future analytical environment that will operate on the new digital platform.

Analytical Leadership

  • Lead analytical workstreams across clinical and operational areas, developing insight into services, pathways and performance.
  • Work with stakeholders to define key questions and translate these into dashboards, reports and investigations.
  • Provide expert advice to support decision‑making, improvement and strategy.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Design and deliver high‑quality dashboards and reports (e.g. Power BI).
  • Analyse complex data from multiple sources to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Present findings clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences and support consistent performance metrics.

Data & Systems Understanding

  • Maintain strong knowledge of Trust data systems (EPR, PAS, diagnostics and operational databases).
  • Integrate data across systems and support transition to modern platforms (e.g. FDP), ensuring future‑ready reporting.

EPR Support

  • Support EPR implementation, including testing, data validation and maintaining reporting continuity.
  • Contribute to future reporting design aligned to new systems.

Insight & Improvement

  • Undertake detailed analysis of performance, demand, capacity and patient flow.
  • Translate findings into clear insights and recommendations.

Governance & Quality

  • Ensure compliance with information governance and promote high data quality.
  • Address data issues with system owners.

Collaboration & Flexibility

  • Build stakeholder relationships, support analytical capability and best practice, and contribute flexibly to organisational priorities and transformation programmes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree‑level education or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Relevant qualifications in analytics, data science or a related field.
  • Project management (PRINCE2/Agile).
  • Lean/Six Sigma.
  • Demonstrable experience working in an analytical role.
  • Experience of gathering business requirements and process mapping.
  • Data analysis, interpreting and presenting complex information.
  • Experience supporting testing or implementation of systems.
  • Experience in EPR or healthcare IT.
  • Vendor/supplier coordination.
  • Knowledge of NHS workflows.
  • Experience with automated testing tools.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to translate needs into specifications.
  • Proficiency in process modelling.
  • Effective problem‑solving.
  • Knowledge of interoperability standards (HL7/FHIR).
  • Awareness of NHS Digital/EPR frameworks and change management principles.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to run workshops and engage diverse user groups.
  • Ability to travel across sites where required.
  • Flexibility during key programme periods (e.g. go‑live).
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced project environment.

Working Arrangements

  • Hybrid working is in place; the role requires on‑site presence at Sherwood Forest Hospitals a minimum of three days per week.
