Industrial Electrical Maintenance Technician
We’re looking to recruit an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance and Reliability team, supporting sites across the Essex area.
Overview
Permanent role – 36 core hours per week. Salary up to £45,100 + OTE of up to £13,000 after training. Location: Chelmsford, Essex, with travel to sites across the Essex area. Mobile worker: company van and fuel card provided.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose faults and carry out preventative and proactive maintenance to improve plant performance, availability and reliability.
- Work on a wide and varied asset base, including PLCs, telemetry, level control and variable speed drives.
- Travel to sites using the company van, starting and finishing the day from home.
- Participate in an out‑of‑hours standby rota and handle callouts and specialist modules.
- Maintain and repair electrical components, using drawings and fault‑finding techniques.
- Support Health and Safety, aligning with our Everybody Home Safe Everyday culture.
Qualifications
- Time‑served Electrical Technician with at least ONC / NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in maintenance environments, including reactive breakdowns and planned maintenance.
- Ability to manage workload effectively with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency reading and fault‑finding from electrical drawings.
- Positive, can‑do attitude, willingness to learn and openness to new ways of working.
- Hands‑on practical approach with a keen eye for diagnosing issues and implementing effective solutions.
- Strong communication skills, teamwork orientation and commitment to Health and Safety.
- Full UK manual driving licence.
