Operations Manager – Commissioning and Assurance
Location: Council Headquarters, Hamilton
Hours: 35 hours per week, permanent
Work Pattern: Monday – Thursday 8:45am – 4:45pm, Friday 8:45am – 4:15pm
Salary / Hourly Rate: £54,783 – £59,911

The Social Work Resources team aims to promote social welfare and provide effective care and support to meet the needs of vulnerable people.
We are looking for an Operations Manager to join our Social Work Resources Commissioning and Assurance Team in Adult and Older People’s Service. This opportunity enables you to shape high quality care services and ensure commissioned services are effective, sustainable, and deliver positive outcomes for individuals and their carers.
Key Responsibilities
As Operations Manager, you will provide operational leadership to a team of Commissioning and Assurance Officers and Social Workers, bringing together a range of professional skills and expertise to support the planning, commissioning, contract management, quality assurance and performance monitoring of adult social care services. You will also support localities with complex case management, focusing on managing budgets and resources effectively, and ensuring alignment with strategic priorities. A commitment to continuous improvement is required.
Qualifications
- Experience managing staff within a social work, health, commissioning or social care environment.
- Understanding of adult social care commissioning, contract management, quality assurance and performance management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work strategically while maintaining strong operational oversight.
- Experience analysing and interpreting complex performance information to support decision-making.
- Knowledge of relevant social care legislation, policy and governance arrangements.
- Commitment to delivering person-centred, outcome-focused services and continuous improvement.
- A professional qualification at degree level or equivalent.
- Qualification in Social Work (degree, postgraduate diploma or equivalent) or another relevant professional qualification.
