We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Design Manager / Design Manager in London to join our team and support complex multi-disciplinary projects, taking ownership of successful and coordinated delivery. The Design Management Team is part of a larger Projects group, consisting of 50 employees across our UK office locations. Here at Buro Happold, expect the exceptional.
Responsibilities
- Lead or support the delivery of complex multidisciplinary projects from inception to completion.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, consultants and external stakeholders.
- Drive design coordination, programme management and project governance across multiple disciplines.
- Manage project schedules, change control processes, risks and commercial performance.
- Support financial management, forecasting, invoicing and fee control.
- Champion quality assurance, governance and continuous improvement.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture and support the development of colleagues.
- Utilise digital design tools and 3D coordination environments to facilitate project delivery.
Qualifications
Experience within the construction or built environment sector.
MAPM or equivalent professional chartership.
Experience delivering large, complex, multidisciplinary projects.
Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
Commercial awareness with an understanding of contractual, financial and project delivery risks.
Highly organised, adaptable and confident managing competing priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
Experience with 3D coordination platforms (e.g., Revit, Navisworks) and sustainability principles is advantageous.
