QHSE Engineer

Location: Dudley Area. Salary: Circa £40,000 p.a. Work Schedule: Four day week (Monday to Thursday 41 hours per week – 7.45am to 6.00pm; times can be flexible). Position: Permanent.

Responsibilities

• Production of PPAPs, ISIRs & other customer specific documentation
• Maintain the ISO 9001 Quality Management System – managing annual quality audit and systems
• Create FMEA, Control plans, PSW, IMDS
• Investigate quality issues and implement corrective actions
• Carry out inspections (first‑off, last‑off, and in‑process checks)
• Ensure products meet customer specifications and tolerances
• Support quality requirements like APQP, ISIR, PSW and 8Ds
• Work with production teams to reduce defects and waste
• Keep H&S system up to date and support external advisors
• Conduct risk assessments and review safe working practices
• Ensure compliance with UK health and safety regulations
• Monitor safe operation of machinery and equipment
• Investigate accidents and implement preventative measures
• Carry out internal audits for quality and safety
• Support external and customer audits
• Create and update procedures, work instructions, and records
• Train staff on quality standards and health & safety procedures
• Drive continuous improvement using root cause analysis and problem‑solving tools
• Producing workflow processes for new product introduction

The Candidate

• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
• Conversant with the ISO 9001 systems and procedures
• CMM experience
• IOSH Qualification (NEBOSH desirable but not essential)
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Good problem‑solving skills
• Able to converse with customers regarding requirements / NPI
