Purpose of Role
The primary responsibility of a team manager is to oversee the operations of their team and ensure that everyone is working towards a common goal.
This means maintaining a clear communication channel, tracking progress, keeping everyone on task, and ensuring that all team members are pulling their weight.
Additionally, the team manager must ensure the team is productively and efficiently working together, aiming not only at great job performance but also at boosting employee satisfaction and motivation.
Effective team manager needs to be flexible and adaptable in managing their work hours and tasks. They should be able to handle changing workloads and organizational priorities. Working independently is important, meaning they should complete responsibilities with little supervision while being responsible for their decisions. Good delegation skills help ensure the team follows directions and works well together. Having a creative and innovative mindset is also important for helping the company grow and stay competitive.
Primary Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team, set clear goals and objectives, and develop a strategy to achieve them. Foster a positive work environment that encourages collaboration and high performance.
- Act as a bridge between team members and upper management, ensuring that important information is communicated effectively. Provide regular feedback and support to team members, addressing any concerns or issues that arise.
- Monitor team performance and provide coaching and development opportunities to enhance individual and team effectiveness. Analyse performance metrics and create strategies for improvement.
- Address and resolve conflicts within the team, helping to maintain a harmonious work environment. Remove barriers that hinder team performance and facilitate problem-solving.
- Tracking production performance against schedules, identifying deviations, and implementing corrective actions.
- Provide on-the-job training and educational opportunities to help team members build their skills and improve their performance. Encourage professional development and growth within the team.
- Monitoring inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to minimize storage costs and prevent shortages.
- Preparing production reports, analysing performance data, and identifying areas for improvement.
- Addressing and resolving any production-related problems that may arise, such as PPM or material shortages.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration within the team and with other departments or stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and project success.

- Strong Maths and Analytical skills
- Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with various stakeholders.
- Ability to identify and resolve production issues efficiently.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and workflows.
