Job Overview

As an Assistant Night Manager, you will be working 44 hours a week based on a 4 days on/3 days off schedule. At 1651 bedrooms our Royal National Hotel you will deputise for the Night Manager and work as part of a team of 3 Assistant Night Managers, managing a team of 15+ night receptionists and porters. You will have full responsibility for overseeing and directing all hotel operations and services during the night shift, maintaining a great guest experience and ensuring a seamless handover of financial information, KPI targets and night audits for the Front Office Management team in the morning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and security of guests and staff, conducting regular Health and Safety checks and managing emergency procedures and evacuations.
  • Lead by example so the night team delivers an exceptional journey from check‑in to check‑out, addressing any shortfall in service quality and operating standards.
  • Recruit, train and develop the team, rewarding performance and helping team members reach their personal and business goals.
  • Maintain the highest standards of guest experience during all night operations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous operational experience as a Night Manager or an experienced front‑of‑house supervisor/manager within a hotel.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multi‑task and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills with a natural leadership style.
  • Positive can‑do attitude, calm under pressure, able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous knowledge of Opera is desirable.
  • Passion for hospitality and a commitment to creating memorable guest experiences at all hours.
