Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive risk‑based audit plan.
- Set the strategy for Group Internal Audit stakeholder engagement.
- Lead the internal audit function, including scheduling, assigning work, and estimating resources.
- Mentor management on effective leadership and governance culture.
- Ensure coverage of assurance mapping of corporate risks and provide audit opinions on internal controls.
- Report findings to the Audit & Risk Assurance Committee, Group Director of QSHE, Risk and Assurance, and senior management.
- Work with Chairs of UKAEA and UKIFS Audit and Risk Assurance Committees on oversight.
Qualifications
- Professional qualification (CIA/ACCA/CMIIA) or equivalent Internal Audit certification.
- Experience in project management and risk management (desirable).
- Ability to challenge and influence senior management and board level.
- Advanced knowledge of audit principles, practices and procedures.
- Experience implementing assurance quality improvement programmes.
- Significant knowledge of management systems certified to ISO standards.
- Dynamic and inspirational leadership with strategic influence.
- Excellent Board report writing and technical skills.
Requirements
- Eligibility for SC Clearance (must have resided in the UK for the last 5 years).
