Job Description:

Our client is a global industrial engineering business seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Commercial Assistant to support their UK Sales operation. This is a full-time, office-based role focused on sales administration and commercial support activities with strong use of ERP systems. The successful candidate will act as a key link between the commercial field team and internal systems, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and high levels of customer service.

The role reports directly to the Sales Director, with day-to-day guidance and support provided by the Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain product codes within internal systems
  • Create and manage new customer account setups
  • Prepare and issue customer quotations accurately and efficiently
  • Take ownership of internal customer trade agreements, ensuring they are correctly recorded and maintained
  • Manage and update customer catalogues
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of data within the ERP system
  • Handle general queries from both internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Support invoice processing and ensure timely and accurate billing
  • Act as a central coordination point between the commercial field team and internal departments
  • Assist with multiple administrative and commercial processes across the division
  • Provide support for the future rollout and implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)

Skills & Experience

  • At least 2 years experience in an office based sales team (ideally within a manufacturing environment) as a Sales Administration or Commercial Support role. Retail or hospitality sales unfortunately won’t be sufficient here!
  • Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (experience with D365 is advantageous) is required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
