About you
- Previous experience in an Assistant Management Accountant or similar finance role
- Strong understanding of month-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
- Experience assisting with the preparation of management accounts and financial reporting
- Proficient with ERP/accounting systems such as Sage, Business Central or NetSuite, alongside strong Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills
- Experience within construction, engineering, energy or a project-based environment would be advantageous
- Part-qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or actively working towards a professional qualification (desirable)
What you’ll do
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
- Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring deadlines are met
- Maintain accurate financial records and support robust financial controls
- Produce financial analysis and reporting to support business decision-making
- Work closely with operational teams to improve financial processes and reporting
- Support audit preparation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function
