HGV MECHANIC

Pay: £45,000 a year to £50,000 plus annual bonus

Job type: Full-time

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday 9:30am – 7:30pm, no weekends
• Monday to Friday 7:00am – 4:30pm, alternative Saturday mornings

Job Description:

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will maintain Profleet Commercials’ external vehicle fleet of HGVs and LGVs, diagnosing, repairing and ensuring vehicles and trailers meet required standards.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain the mixed fleet of vehicles and trailers to the highest standard in line with DVSA requirements
• Vehicle and trailer inspections
• Fault finding and repairs
• Brake testing
• Use of diagnostic equipment

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• Qualification in City and Guilds HGV Part 1, 2 & 3 or NVQ level 3 equivalent
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as an HGV mechanic
• Large Goods Vehicle experience
• Health & Safety awareness
• Excellent time‑keeping skills

Preferable:

• HGV License – Class 1 or 2
• IRTEC Registered
