The role
This is an exciting part‑time (0.5 FTE) opportunity for an Assistant Forensic Technician to join the University and support students and staff in Forensic Investigation teaching and research.
Role
Within the School of Social Sciences, the Assistant Forensic Technician will assist in the operation of the Crime Scene, forensic investigation and policing modules that include practicals conducted in a crime scene and lab space. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the design and delivery of practical scenarios for teaching
- Maintenance of equipment
- Training users on specialist equipment
- Assisting with research requests and outreach activities
Due to scheduled teaching commitments, working hours will be a half‑day Wednesday, and full days on Thursday and Friday.
About you
Ideal candidates will have knowledge of forensic investigation or experience in a related professional setting and understand the importance of providing students with an excellent learning experience.
