Job Description:

Role Overview

Maintenance Operative with Serco, part of the Asylum Accommodation and Support Services (AASC) team, based in Stoke, Crewe, Stafford, Market Drayton & surrounding areas. This full‑time role requires 37.5 hours per week, with a salary range of £27,500 to £33,500, depending on experience and skills. A full UK driving licence must be held; a vehicle and tools will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out reactive, proactive and pre‑planned maintenance across the premises to meet service level agreements (SLA).
  • Managing your own workflow whilst collaborating with team members as needed.
  • Ensuring the health & safety of yourself and all property users during and after works.
  • Purchasing and managing materials using a company account card from approved Serco suppliers.
  • Keeping assigned vehicles inspected regularly and maintaining them in a professional and clean condition.
  • Participating in out‑of‑hours on‑call duties on a rota basis; duties occur approximately once every 8–10 weeks.

Requirements

  • Previous maintenance experience in joinery, fitting, plumbing, painting & decorating or related field.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the region and occasionally within the UK.
  • Full UK driving licence essential.
  • Security clearance checks and approval by the Home Office are required.

Working Hours & Flexible Working

Mon‑Fri, 7.5 hours per day between 08:00 and 18:00. The role offers flexible working patterns and is part of a hybrid work structure.
