What you will bedoing:

In this role, you’ll be responsible for supervising andperforming commissioning activities to support delivery of theStrategic Weapon System on the UK’s next generation of ballisticnuclear submarine platforms. You’ll oversee installation, testing,and maintenance of complex electrical systems,ensuring compliance with safety and performancestandards.

Core duties:

  • Supervise and safely carry out commissioningactivities for strategic weapon systems
  • Demonstrate exemplary Health, Safety& Environmental (HS&E) behaviours at all times
  • Oversee and advise oninstallation of system equipment
  • Produce and review test documentationand procedures
  • Conduct testing, commissioning,operation, and maintenance (preventative and corrective)
  • Record test results andmaintain detailed equipment performance logs
  • Represent the company at trainingevents and technical discussions across the UK and USA
  • Support sea trials, includingpotential work onboard submarines and shift-basedactivities

Your skills andexperience:

  • HNC(or equivalent) in an Electrical discipline, or relevant experiencedesirable for Engineer level
  • Experience in testing andcommissioning electrical/electronic systems desirable forEngineer
  • Knowledgeof installation and testing of fibre optic interfaces(advantageous)
  • Awareness of authorised documentationand test standards
  • Experience in electrical installations

The Strategic Weapons Test &Commissioning Team:

You’ll be part of a team deliveringsome of the UK’s most complex and critical defenceprojects. The Strategic Weapons Test Organisation plays a key rolein ensuring submarine systems meet or exceed design specificationsbefore delivery to the Ministry of Defence.

Working closely with Engineering,Build, Quality, and Supply Chain teams—as well as US partners andequipment manufacturers—you’ll have opportunities to influencedesign, commissioning, and testing activities, alongsideopportunities for travel and career development.
