Position: Document Control Specialistn Location: Remote (Birmingham) – Business Travel Required (infrequent)n Benefits: Competitive Salary, Bonus, and Standard UK Benefitsn n Profile:n We are searching for a Document Control Specialist to join a dynamic and collaborative team driving excellence in engineering projects. As a Document Controller, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of technical documentation across complex projects. If you are passionate about organisation, precision, and enabling successful project execution, this is your opportunity to learn, grow, and make an impact in a global environment.n n Roles & Responsibilities:nRegister, issue, update, and archive technical project documentation (drawings, specifications, certificates, etc.).nMaintain and keep the Document Management System (DMS) up to date.nPrepare the Project Document List in collaboration with all disciplines and the list of documents to be shared with the client.nCoordinate with all disciplines and clients to ensure proper document delivery and traceability.nCollaborate with Project Management, Engineering, and Planning teams to monitor document status, update planning dates, and activate internal and external documentation workflows.nPrepare reports on document status.nEnsure compliance with company standards and document control procedures.nReview technical specifications to identify document management requirements for projects.nProvide training to end-users on the use of the document management tool.nPrepare & collate Health & Safety Files, including technical manuals (O&M) to relevant project requirements.nSupport off site activities related to effective document management control such as scanning and filing of project documentation at customer premises.nManage outsourced printing suppliers through requesting quotations, monitoring quantities and reporting to the Project and Document Manager.Ideal Background:nLibrary and Information Studies (or similar); technical degrees with proven experience in document management within engineering companies.nMinimum of 5 years of experience in Document Control activities in engineering firms.nKnowledge of document management tools (In Eight, SharePoint, Aconex, Livelink, Extended ECM etc.).nKnowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and Building Information Modelling (BIM) environments is a plus.nKnowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).nOrganizational skills, attention to detail, and good communication abilities.nKnowledge of various relevant industry standard client documentation practices including National Grid / SSE / SPEN / DNO requirements, is desirable.nIOSH Managing Safely or similar, is desirable.The Company:n NES Fircroft are currently working on behalf of a global power technology business which have a presence in almost 100 countries.
