About the Role
As a Caretaker, you will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of the site, carrying out general maintenance tasks, maintaining equipment, and helping to ensure the site remains safe and well maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance, repairs, and other practical tasks as directed by the Site Manager.
- Perform reactive maintenance, including painting, decorating, and minor plumbing, and electrical repairs.
- Install, repair, or replace fixtures and fittings, including locks, curtains, blinds, shelves, and window restrictors.
- Assemble flat‑pack furniture and install household appliances, such as washing machines.
- Maintain outdoor areas, including gardens and yards, and clear drains as required.
- Complete maintenance records and ensure documentation is kept up to date in line with company policies.
Required Skills
- General maintenance and DIY skills, including the use of basic hand and power tools.
- Ability to identify faults, evaluate solutions, and carry out repairs efficiently.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload effectively.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle due to the location of the site.
