About the role
Senior Manufacturing Engineer – 12‑month fixed term contract based in Glenrothes or Livingston, full time (37 hours per week). The role requires a baseline security clearance and eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement using Best in Class and World Class Manufacturing principles.
- Collaborate with the Integrated Program Team, engineering and other project teams.
- Use manufacturing data to identify and address issues, applying a methodical approach to systemic root‑cause analysis and corrective action.
- Identify, expedite and provide solutions for quality or performance issues.
- Determine skills training or development needs to enhance team performance.
- Report and maintain manufacturing metrics, track performance against team KPIs and individual goals.
- Support program cells and the broader engineering community.
- Participate in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and manufacturability analyses, and in New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and reporting.
- Lead or contribute to process FMEA development, review and risk mitigation processes.
Qualifications – Must Have
- Minimum of HND in Manufacturing/Production Engineering or a related subject.
- High‑performance engineer and self‑starter.
- Strong knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes across a range of technologies and production platforms.
- Analytical engineer capable of processing data efficiently and communicating outcomes at all levels.
- Team player who takes ownership of problems and fully participates in team activities.
- Demonstrated contribution to specific improvements in production programs’ effectiveness, efficiency and optimisation.
- Understanding and promotion of equipment/machine Statistical Process Control (SPC) to identify potential issues and prevent them.
- Experience with 6Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Experience across various manufacturing platforms.
- Proven technical presentation skills.

- Proven track record in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Driven, confident engineer able to maintain enthusiasm and energy across the team.
- Self‑starter with the ability to encourage improvement and challenge the status quo.
- Excellent communication skills across a range of disciplines and with engineering peer groups.
