Prison Offender Manager – Non Operational
Salary – £32616.96
Job objectives and responsibilities
This role offers an exciting opportunity to assist in reducing reoffending by supporting behaviour change in prisoners. At HMP Millsike, you’ll work in a vibrant environment focused on rehabilitation, restoration, and resettlement through a risk‑informed approach.
Based in the Offender Management Unit (OMU), you’ll handle all aspects of a prisoner’s case, including risk management, parole applications, and sentence planning. As a Non‑operational Prison Offender Manager (POM), you’ll manage and assess low to medium‑risk prisoners, creating and evaluating their sentence plans to reduce reoffending.
This non‑operational role requires no line management responsibilities. We’re looking for candidates with transferable skills from various sectors. You’ll engage regularly with prisoners, maintaining open communication and prioritising face‑to‑face interactions.
The OMU is fast‑paced, liaising with internal and external agencies like courts, police, and probation services. You’ll receive mandatory training to perform this specialist role effectively.
