Job Summary

Closing date: 02 August 2026. The Regulation Unit is looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and experienced person with a background in Pollution Control to manage our dedicated Pollution Control Team.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate complaints of statutory nuisance
  • Respond to planning consultations
  • Regulate Part A2 and B permitted processes
  • Monitor air quality
  • Oversee the contaminated land regime under Part II A of the Environmental Protection Act 1990
  • Receive licence applications to comment on
  • Look into pest infestations, drainage problems and accumulations of waste on land
  • Manage and support the Pollution Control Team, providing technical guidance, prioritising work, and communicating diplomatically with a wide range of service users

Qualifications

  • Background in Pollution Control
  • Technical knowledge to advise team members
  • Time management skills to prioritise work
  • People skills to diplomatically communicate with a wide range of service users
  • Flexible and pragmatic problem solving ability
