Position Overview

The successful candidate will be working alongside a team of caring, enthusiastic, dedicated staff, who are well-supported by their Senior Leadership Team.
Responsibilities
- Work with teachers as part of a professional team to organise and support teaching and learning activities for SEN pupils, including classes.
- Deliver specified work to individuals and groups under the direction and supervision of a qualified teacher.
- Provide specialist learning support for pupils identified as having learning difficulties, including complex and multiple special education needs, in a broad range of learning situations and settings.
- Plan, organise and undertake other related duties to fully support and underpin learning, personal and social development.
- Provide cover supervision of classes.
- Cover for teaching assistants (TA’s).
- Provide PPA cover for teachers.
- Use teaching and learning objectives to plan, evaluate and adjust lessons/work plans as appropriate within agreed systems of supervision.
- Provide specialist support to pupils with severe learning, behavioural, communication, social, sensory or physical difficulties.
Qualifications
- Have relevant experience of working with pupils with SEN.
- Be educated to GCSE level 5 or the equivalent in maths and English.
- Have excellent IT skills.
- Meet the professional standards for Higher Level Teaching Assistants.
- Have the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence through the medium of English.
