Senior Plant Maintenance Engineer

You will be deputising for the Site Manager, assisting in the safe, compliant and efficient running of the site. You will lead the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) System, manage planned downtime of key equipment for safe and cost‑effective overhaul, prioritise and respond to reactive maintenance and repairs, and minimise operational disruption.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain the PPM system.
• Respond to and prioritise reactive maintenance requests.
• Manage budgets and cost control for maintenance activities.
• Coordinate work on weekends and call‑outs on a rota basis.
• Monitor the AD process remotely.
• Licence telehandler operation and vehicle driving when required.

Requirements

• Qualified in electrical or mechanical engineering, preferably with industry experience.
• Experience in PLC controls or electronics is an advantage.
• Knowledge of materials handling, confined spaces, working at heights and first aid.
• Strong procedural discipline, cost‑control experience and people‑management skills.
• Desirable experience of environmental, safety and quality management systems.
• Experience with planned preventive maintenance systems.
• Full UK driving licence and telehandler licence (to be obtained if not already held).
• Willingness to work weekends and be on call.

Job Type

Full Time, Permanent, 40 hours per week. Work includes weekends on a rota and remote monitoring.

Salary

Up to £49,000 per annum, dependent on experience, plus allowance, overtime and bonus.
