Overview
The Associate Director role is part of RSM’s Corporate Treasury Advisory team within the Risk and Governance solution. The position focuses on shaping our corporate treasury offering and pipeline of work in London, identifying new clients and business opportunities, and supporting Partners and Directors in delivering high‑quality advisory services.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a corporate treasury advisory team and oversee the delivery of client programmes to ensure timely, budget‑conscious, and high‑quality outcomes.
- Initiate and lead business development activities, including networking, writing proposals, preparing strategic documentation, and presenting thought‑leadership pieces.
- Manage the agreed client portfolio, approve service‑delivery proposals, and maintain effective billing and recovery targets.
- Engage senior client stakeholders (CFO, group treasurer, finance directors, banking counterparties) to conduct structured document reviews, gap analysis, and interview processes.
- Develop and document solutions, policies, and recommendations; oversee quality assurance reviews and final approvals of client work.
- Handle day‑to‑day team matters such as performance feedback, recruitment support, welfare, and health & safety.
- Assist with strategic initiatives, proposition development, tender/pitch presentations, and material production for seminars and events.
- Travel across the region and nationally as required; attend meetings outside core hours.

- Funding strategy, debt advisory support and covenant reporting
- Financial risk management (FX, interest rate, commodity risk) and hedging strategy
- Hedge accounting support (e.g., IFRS9) and documentation
- Treasury management system (TMS) selection/implementation support and process improvement
- Bank relationship management and RFPs
- Treasury transformation and target operating model design
- Treasury due diligence for transactions and refinancing
Qualifications
- Strong corporate treasury experience with a proven track record in in‑house treasury, banking/markets, or professional services advisory.
- Established professional network within the treasury sector and evidence of winning new business.
- Experience managing engagements, teams, and business‑development activities, including tender processes and proposition design.
- Knowledge of corporate treasury, banking markets/products, and relevant accounting/treasury standards.
- Experience with TMS implementation (e.g., Kyriba, SAPS/4HANA, FIS, Embat).
- Degree level education and/or chartered accountant or equivalent; relevant professional qualification (e.g., AMCT/CTP/ACT, ACA/ACCA/CIMA) preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to problem‑solve and develop pragmatic solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and maintain high attention to detail.
- Proactive, ambitious, and resilient with a ‘can‑do’ attitude.
