Senior Electronics Engineer

Join a precision engineering manufacturer as a Senior Electronics Engineer in Leicester. In this role you will design electronic control systems, develop embedded firmware, and support the entire product lifecycle from concept through manufacturing and ongoing support.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electronic control systems and embedded firmware for complex electro‑mechanical equipment
• Develop hardware including schematic capture, PCB design, prototyping and testing
• Support product development from concept through manufacture and ongoing lifecycle support
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Software and Manufacturing Engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions
• Troubleshoot complex system‑level issues and implement robust engineering solutions
• Carry out hands‑on activities including prototype assembly, PCB rework, cable manufacture and product validation
• Support Design for Manufacture (DFM) and continuous improvement initiatives
• Produce technical documentation and support engineering best practice

Qualifications

• HNC, HND or degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or similar
• 5+ years’ experience developing electronics for electro‑mechanical products or industrial equipment
• Strong knowledge of analogue and digital electronics
• Experience with PCB design, schematic capture and embedded hardware development
• Knowledge of microcontrollers, communications protocols and motor control systems
• Comfortable working in both laboratory and manufacturing environments
• Proactive, hands‑on engineer who enjoys solving challenging technical problems

Experience with Altium Designer, CE/EMC compliance, SolidWorks or product lifecycle management would be advantageous but is not essential.
