Project Engineer – FMCG

AM Global are recruiting on behalf of our FMCG client based in Chester le Street for a seasoned Project Engineer.

Job Purpose

Management of plant infrastructure, new installation and seek / design innovative ways to improve efficiencies of equipment / processes. Supporting the whole engineering function and implementing the strategies as laid out by the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and direct the installation, and commissioning, of new capital equipment.
• Ensure clear schedule of activities is communicated to the Management Team.
• Provide and review method statements, risk assessments and SOP’s as required.
• Ensure the safe working of contractors on site and communicate the work of such contractors to the management team through to a mutually agreed conclusion.
• Issuing necessary Permits to Work, etc.
• Produce and maintain a rolling plan of continual improvement to enhance productivity via automation of processes.
• Liaise with Operations Manager to identify areas within the plant that could significantly increase operational efficiencies if re-engineered, adjusted, etc.
• Carry out pre delivery inspection (DFMEA, FAT, SAT) of machinery if required.
• Training and development of direct reports.
• Liaise with HR Manager from early stages of any potential HR issues relating to direct reports.
• Ensure activities meet with, and integrate with business requirements for H&S and Quality Management.
• Attending personal development opportunities relevant to role.

Key Requirements

• Experience e in Project Engineering within the FMCG Sector.
• Previous experience of working within confirmed spaces.
• Team management skills.
• Health and safety qualification desirable.
