Product Manager – Pet Insurance
Hybrid – primarily remote with occasional travel to Paddington or Borehamwood
Own and evolve a live insurance product used by thousands of pet owners
At Pinnacle Pet UK, our product team sits at the center of how we design, price, distribute and continuously improve our pet insurance offering.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
You’ll manage and evolve parts of our pet insurance product, with responsibility spanning both day-to-day product control and longer-term development.
- Designing and refining core elements of the product, including cover structure, policy terms, features, and positioning
- Turning strategy, market insight, and regulatory requirements into clear product changes and enhancements
- Managing and improving product performance across aggregator and direct distribution channels
- Identifying opportunities to optimise conversion, retention, and customer value
- Using data—claims, complaints, customer behaviour, and competitor analysis—to inform decisions
- Leading product initiatives from concept through to launch, working closely with commercial, pricing, operations, compliance, and technology teams
- Maintaining and evolving policy wordings, documentation, and product governance frameworks
- Ensuring strong alignment with FCA requirements and Consumer Duty, embedding good customer outcomes into product decisions
- Acting as a product lead on issues, incidents, or emerging risks, ensuring appropriate response and corrective action
What Makes This Role Interesting
- You are managing a real insurance product, not just a digital feature set
- Exposure to the full product lifecycle: design, pricing input, distribution, governance, and optimisation
- A mix of commercial levers (e.g. aggregator performance) and customer-centric decisions (e.g. cover design and fairness)
- The opportunity to influence how we balance growth, risk, and customer value in a regulated market
What You’ll Bring
You’ll bring strong product judgement and an understanding of how insurance products actually work in practice.
We’d Expect
- Experience in insurance or financial services product management (ideally consumer insurance)
- A solid understanding of insurance product components—cover, pricing considerations, distribution, and policy structure
- The ability to connect product decisions to commercial outcomes and customer impact
- Confidence working within regulatory frameworks, including FCA expectations and Consumer Duty
- Strong analytical capability, using multiple data sources to inform product decisions
- The ability to lead change across teams and bring stakeholders with you
Most importantly, you’ll be someone who is comfortable owning a product area end-to-end—making decisions, improving it continuously, and being accountable for how it performs in the market.
Working here
This role is primarily remote, with occasional travel to our Paddington or Borehamwood offices, depending on business needs, along with infrequent visits to partners.
You’ll be part of a collaborative team where product has a clear voice and where there is genuine scope to shape how our pet insurance proposition evolves.
