Our Finance team continues to go from strength to strength and we are involved in exciting and innovative initiatives across the firm. Rather than being considered a necessary support function, our Finance department is an integral part of the strategy of the firm, and this is reflected both by the level of investment and how new initiatives are discussed at the most senior level.
Duties And Responsibilities
To provide a high-quality legal cashiering function to the Firm; to be responsive to the changing needs and priorities of the department and to provide ad hoc support to departmental colleagues as and when required. The Legal Cashier will work within a team of six legal cashiers and will be supervised in day‑to‑day operations by the Cashiers Team Leader.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Allocating and posting of all client funds receipts received via online banking (mainly RBS Bankline).
- Client to client transfers.
- Investigating and allocating funds received for bills.
- Payments out of all client funds – via online banking and cheque payments.
- Taking client calls for card payments and processing via online terminal.
- Interest calculations, both manual and automatic.
- Foreign currency transactions via online banking.
- Dealing promptly with ad‑hoc queries presented by Partners, Associates and Secretaries/PA’s.
- Liaising with our bank, dealing with any queries.
- Dealing with the opening, closing and maintaining of joint accounts.
- Handling the above mentioned transactions for our offices in Hong Kong, Singapore and Dubai as well as London.
Experience
- Solid legal cashiering experience.
- Strong knowledge of the SRA Rules.
- Excellent IT skills, CMS/Aderant/Elite experience preferred.
