Overview
We are a well-established business in the compact and sustainable lifting industry. We are seeking a proactive, autonomous Area Sales Manager, ideally based in the Midlands or South of the UK with experience in construction, heavy plant or lifting to support our growth plans.
Location
Field based with occasional visits to our head office in the Southwest. Commutable locations: Bristol, Birmingham, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Watford, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Rugby, Coventry, Leicester, Bedford, Guildford, Slough, Newbury, Swindon.
Salary and Benefits
BASIC SALARY: up to £55,000
- Bonus / Commission (circa £7,500 year 1 but uncapped)

Role and Responsibilities
Area Sales Manager responsible for growing our business in the UK. Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will form a crucial part of our current sales team. This is a new-business focused role; you will pursue the sale and then pass work to a key account manager or manage the process yourself as sales cycles vary in duration. Your drive will be moving onto the next prospect.
- Ensure we effectively market map our target customers and industries and maintain CRM information to measure success
- Develop and implement a sales strategy for our product and service
- Oversee and manage all new business opportunities
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, sales performance and market shifts
Candidate Profile / Qualifications
Ultimately, you are a successful salesperson with the drive to do more. You may come from a construction background or be selling or arranging the hire of heavy plant, excavation, mining, drilling, piling, trucks, buses, or off-highway equipment, or work in a similar arena. You should be ready for the next step and to join a business that is keen to grow and backed by a group structure.
- Experience with heavy construction equipment, mining, quarrying, cranes, scissor lifts, hoists, commercial vehicles, etc., and understanding of the contacts needed to generate business in this arena
- Prolonged experience managing your own diary and prospecting defined markets with minimal supervision
- Drive and desire to continually pursue the next sale
- Experience generating your own business and understanding metrics around success; we seek to develop management information around the sales process and would like this role to help shape reporting
- Ideal but not essential: experience in a heavy construction environment
