Year 1 Intervention support – Blackburn

A primary school in Blackburn is seeking a Year 1 Intervention Support teacher or teaching assistant to join their team from September until Christmas.

About the role

This role focuses on providing targeted support for Year 1 pupils by working closely with class teachers to deliver structured support sessions. This role has flexibility for full‑time or part‑time working.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils with literacy and numeracy development
• Work closely with the class teacher to plan and adapt learning activities
• Create a positive and supportive learning environment
• Assist in maintaining good behaviour and engagement during sessions

Pre-requisites

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant Teaching Assistant experience
• Experience working within KS1
• Strong understanding of early learning and phonics
• Ability to engage and support pupils with varying needs
