You’ll be joining a well-established workshop team that supports essential public services across the region.Your new roleAs an HGV Mechanic, you’ll carry out inspection, maintenance and repair work on a diverse fleet including HGVs, LGVs, plant equipment and specialist municipal vehicles. You’ll ensure all vehicles meet statutory compliance, safety standards and operational readiness.Key responsibilities include:Conducting routine servicing, MOT preparation and safety inspectionsDiagnosing faults and completing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairsMaintaining accurate service records and documentationEnsuring all work is completed in line with health & safety and local authority standardsSupporting colleagues and contributing to a positive workshop environmentWhat you’ll need to succeedTime-served HGV Mechanic / Vehicle Technician (or equivalent)Experience working on HGVs and/or municipal fleet vehiclesStrong diagnostic and problem-solving skillsA proactive approach and ability to work independentlyHGV licence (desirable but not essential)What you’ll get in returnMonday-Friday working pattern, 8:00am-4:30pmCompetitive rate of payOpportunity for long term workWhat you need to do now
