Central Planning Clerk – B&Q, Branston

We are recruiting a Central Planning Clerk to support our customer B&Q. The role delivers high‑quality customer service in a busy environment, handling enquiries, incident calls and emails, maintaining records, rebooking orders and ensuring operational procedures are followed.

Location: Branston

Position: Full‑time, permanent. Work any 5 of 7 shifts: 8:00‑16:00, 10:00‑18:00 or 13:00‑21:00.

Pay: £25,061.40 per annum plus a 25% unsocial allowance for weekends and work after 20:00. Benefits: 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), company‑sponsored pension scheme, life assurance, and access to our benefits platform with retail discounts.

Typical day

  • Deliver high‑quality service by working collaboratively with team members and sharing knowledge.
  • Handle all incoming customer calls in line with SLA requirements, ensuring prompt and appropriate responses.
  • Manage customer incident calls and emails from initial contact through to resolution.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records, including designated spreadsheets and documentation.
  • Rebook customer orders and provide updates via phone or text message.
  • Follow all operational procedures and report any incidents of non‑compliance as required.

Qualifications and skills

  • Previous customer service experience or NVQ Level 3 in Customer Service.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work in a busy environment.
  • Committed team player, well organised and takes ownership of tasks.
  • High attention to detail with confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
