About The Role

We are looking for a calm, reliable, and guest-focused Assistant Night Manager to support the Night Manager in overseeing the hotel’s overnight operation. This role is key to ensuring guest safety, service excellence, and operational continuity during night hours. Working as second-in-command overnight, you will help supervise the Front Office Night Team, support the completion of Night Audit processes and provide excellent customer service, upholding Dominus and Curio Collection by Hilton’s values.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the Night Manager in the smooth operation of the hotel during the night shift, ensuring exceptional guest service and operational excellence at all times.
  • Act as a key point of contact for guests, handling enquiries, requests and concerns professionally and efficiently.
  • Provide leadership and support to the overnight team, conducting shift briefings and ensuring clear communication across departments.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the hotel, ensuring high standards of presentation, service and guest satisfaction.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment for guests, visitors and team members, responding appropriately to incidents and emergencies.
  • Complete night audit procedures, daily financial reconciliations and end-of-day system processes accurately and within required timeframes.
  • Support the Front Office operation through effective room inventory management, upselling opportunities and revenue optimisation.
  • Monitor outstanding payments, no-shows and chargebacks, ensuring appropriate follow-up and resolution.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of hotel facilities, services, room categories, promotions and the local area to confidently assist guests and enhance their stay.
  • Ensure full compliance with hotel policies, licensing requirements, health & safety procedures and emergency protocols.
  • Support the Front Office leadership team with departmental administration, training and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with the management of operational challenges, guest incidents and service recovery, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and professionally.

About you

  • Previous experience in a supervisory Front Office, Night Management or similar hotel operations role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, support and develop team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with guests, colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Calm, professional and resilient, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, taking ownership of tasks and driving high standards across the operation.
  • Good understanding of hotel operations, guest service principles, health & safety requirements and emergency procedures.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to work overnight shifts and respond to the changing needs of the business.
  • Experience using hotel property management systems would be advantageous.
