Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimise 3D scanning and structured light measurement programs using appropriate metrology software (e.g., Zeiss Inspect, PolyWorks).
  • Validate measurement routines to ensure they meet quality, accuracy, efficiency, and safety standards throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Create clear operational work instructions for optical and 3D scanning inspection processes.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for production measurement issues, collaborating with operations to resolve challenges.
  • Define and implement setup, fixturing, and verification procedures that ensure verification processes are robust, repeatable, and safe for both products and people.

Qualifications

  • Professionally qualified engineer (e.g., UK minimum HND/foundation degree or national equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
  • Proficient in programming and operating 3D scanning or optical metrology software (e.g., Zeiss Inspect, PolyWorks).
  • Strong understanding of inspection and metrology principles, with hands‑on experience using optical and 3D structured light technologies.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and general awareness of digital manufacturing systems (e.g., Teamcenter, NX).
  • Metrology qualification preferred (e.g., NPL Level 1/2 or NMSA Level 2/3, or equivalent).

Security Clearance

This role will require you to hold a Developed Vetting (DV). To start, you will require a minimum Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats. Rolls‑Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place.
