Job Overview
Two Band 8A Senior Radiotherapy Physicists are required within the Radiotherapy Physics Department at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. The role offers a contemporary Radiotherapy Service that has recently adopted AI auto‑contouring, surface‑guided radiotherapy (SGRT), and a new Varian Truebeam linear accelerator equipped with the UK’s first DoseRT system. Ongoing projects include the migration of the patient management system and treatment planning system to the cloud, RapidPlan implementation, scripting, Transit Dosimetry, QMS, QC management systems, and 3D printing.
Key Responsibilities
- Support all areas of the radiotherapy scientific service at an MPE level.
- Lead agreed scientific developments within the allocated sub‑specialism.
- Actively contribute to routine clinical service and assist the Head of Radiotherapy Physics and Deputies as required.
Relocation & Service Changes
Our Service will relocate to the new Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in 2028 as part of the Hospital Transformation Programme. Successful candidates will be expected to move with the Service at that time. Detailed information on the relocation will be provided through a formal management of change process with full staff consultation and support.
