Position: Part‑time Band 6 Podiatrist (18.75 hours per week) at Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC), Loughborough.

Main duties of the job

• Provide musculoskeletal care (MSK) rehabilitation to service personnel with complex clinical needs within the Lower Limbs Service.
• Routine care of a small inpatient cohort with complex needs.
• Conduct pre‑surgical assessment and determine suitability for surgical intervention.
• Utilise local anaesthetic injection therapy and post‑operative wound care dressings and care planning.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of rheumatology, vascular pathology, neurological conditions and post‑surgical wounds.

Job responsibilities

• Provide high‑standard podiatry services to outpatient and inpatient patients at DMRC.
• Plan and implement development of the podiatry service to meet demand.
• Assist in evaluating the current need for the podiatry service and regional contracts.
• Provide podiatry advice and support to the teams at DMRC.
• Use only MOD approved orthotics for evaluation and reporting.
• Contribute to the DMRC in‑service training programme as directed by the Advanced Practitioner Podiatrist and Officer Commanding (OC) Lower Limbs.
• Support clinical needs of the inpatient cohort with regular foot care and nail surgery where appropriate.

Registrations and Memberships

• Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council.
• Member of the Royal College of Podiatry (registration number required).

Qualifications

• Degree in Podiatry.
• Postgraduate specialist training to Masters level or equivalent in Clinical Biomechanics / Advanced Clinical Practice (preferred).

Experience

• Assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders.
• Minimum of 2 years post‑graduate clinical experience.
• Evidence of attendance of related courses.
• Experience working with a military population.

• Pay: £38,682 to £46,580 per annum (pro‑rata for part time). Pay award pending.
