Overview
The Product Analytics and Experimentation team sits within the Data & Analytics directorate of the Technology department. Our mission is to deliver insightful and actionable data through reporting, analysis, and experimentation, with a focus on establishing best‑practice processes and enabling data‑driven decision making across all supported product teams.
The team supports digital products such as the Tesco Groceries & Clubcard app, website, support centre and store tills. We continually seek the best tools and technology to deliver our vision and drive innovation across our technology organisation.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborating with Product Managers, Optimisation Managers, and Digital Analysts to conduct A/B tests, and providing analysis of results to deliver actionable recommendations that can be applied to improve our digital products and the customer experience.
- Performing analyses of customer behaviour within experimentation using a variety of data sources and tools (SQL Hive / Spark, Python, Alteryx, Adobe Analytics) and presenting insights in a simple and engaging way to a range of audiences including Product, UX, and Engineering.
- Ensuring the reliability of our test results by applying appropriate statistical testing methods to our test data.
- Working closely with the Analytics Capabilities and Digital Analytics teams to ensure tracking and means of measurement is in place for our A/B tests.
- Working with the finance team to forecast accurate and representative financial benefits.
- Learning new analytics techniques and tools rapidly with the support of the Senior Analysts and putting these skills into practice.
- Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence.
- Experience working with and analysing data from multiple sources to generate meaningful insights.
- The ability to explain complex information clearly and effectively to stakeholders with varying levels of data understanding.
- A good understanding of A/B testing principles, and an understanding of optimisation and its business value.
- A proactive, self‑motivated approach, with the ability to plan your work and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across teams and with senior stakeholders.
- Experience querying data with SQL.
Additional Experience
- Exposure to A/B testing tools.
- Familiarity with web analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, or similar.
- Relevant experience in a quantitative discipline, or a similar university degree of 2:1 or higher.
