Overview
Customer Services Assistant – Newcastle Area, Band 2, with roles supporting business needs across the Older People and Physical Disability Teams. Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm (hours and pattern negotiable; base and home working available).
The post holder will primarily support the Customer Service Functions handling all call traffic into the Customer Service Centre for Adult Social Care services, supporting Mental Health and Older People and Physical Disability/Sensory service provision. They will be the first point of contact with services and a key link in connecting callers to practice teams and associated services. The role includes general administrative and business support to meet service needs, and providing information and advice to enable operational excellence via Pathway support. It also includes inputting data, data cleansing, maintaining records, and providing support to social workers.
A strong sense of teamwork and commitment to high standards is essential. The post holder may be required to undertake general office duties and support the teams linked to their Assigned Social Care Pathway.
All posts require suitable candidates who possess a good standard of literacy and numeracy, strong communication and interpersonal skills, IT skills including data entry and working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, and the ability to multitask and prioritise own workload. Qualifications & Training
- Good general education with English and Maths to GCSE standard or equivalent.
- NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent qualification or equivalent knowledge gained through experience.
- Willingness to undertake training relevant to the post
Experience
- Experience of using computer-based information systems in an office environment
- Ability and experience of using IT systems including Microsoft Office and MS Teams and accurate keyboard skills
- Previous experience of working with the public both on a face-to-face basis and over the telephone
