Overview

Quality Management Lead – Civils. Location: Bristol, England, United Kingdom. Working pattern: Hybrid. Salary: £68,000 per annum. Benefits available.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor contractor quality performance across major civil engineering packages.
  • Audit, assess and challenge suppliers and contractors to ensure compliance with quality management systems and project requirements.
  • Oversee quality documentation, inspection records and manufacturing dossiers to ensure complete and accurate project records.
  • Ensure manufactured equipment and materials meet technical specifications and quality requirements before release to site.
  • Coordinate inspection, surveillance and witness activities throughout manufacturing and construction phases.
  • Lead quality reviews with project teams, contractors, clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Investigate quality issues, identify root causes and drive corrective and preventative actions.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality performance and project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with project quality plans, ISO standards, regulatory requirements and contractual obligations.
  • Support supplier qualification, performance monitoring and quality improvement programmes.
  • Produce quality reports, KPIs and management information for senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with engineering, construction and commercial teams to proactively identify and mitigate quality risks.
  • Champion a positive quality culture across the project, embedding best practice and lessons learned.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in Quality Management within major infrastructure, civil engineering or construction projects.
  • A strong understanding of quality assurance, quality control and supplier quality management.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and quality governance principles.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence contractors, suppliers and senior project teams.
  • Experience working within large-scale infrastructure, energy, nuclear or heavy civils projects is highly desirable.
  • A recognised qualification in Quality Management, Engineering, Construction or a related discipline.
  • Lead Auditor qualification and/or membership of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) is desirable.
